My Heart's Desire (Poem)

Lord of heaven and of earth
God who recreated me and gave me my worth
As I am on my knees before you, I may weep and I may cry
My request before you is teach me to die
I don’t wanna be the same, I am tired of me
I want my reflection to be of you Lord spiritually
May you receive glory from my life as I lay down on this altar
I am tired of playing games and of falling to falter
Take my life, take it and do with it as you please
I will not leave until I hear an answer on my knees
My life never had meaning until you came into it
The darkest night of my soul I could not go through it
Without you, for you are everything to me, my very life
You gave me my daughter and forgave me of strife
When Satan claimed possession of my soul you shut it down
I desire to win the race and cast before you my crown
I love you but I want to LOVE you in the way that you deserve
I want to be emptied out like a glass with nothing in reserve

Take my life when I don’t have the strength to give it away
I want to be pleasing to you Lord when I see you that day
May my life be the reward for what you suffered when you died
I cant do it no more Lord I am tired and I tried
I need you Lord I need you something terrible
Without your touch nothing is bearable
Set me on fire as a human torch that as I burn they may see
That my God is a consuming fire eternally
Out of my life may your name receive praise and glory
May it be an additional passage in the redeemer’s story
Spirit of God embolden my steps and strengthen my walk
Let it be my lifestyle and not just what I talk

Break my heart, dash it into pieces
Then give me yours My powerful King Jesus
So that I may feel what you feel and have your heart
Go down deep inside into my most inward part
And tear down any altars that you may find
I want to have a renewed spirit and a clean mind
Take me through the valley of the shadow of death
That I may praise you in the darkness with my every breath
I don’t care what I suffer anymore or what I may go through
As long as I bring honor and praise unto you
