The Four Loves: Sexual Love Pt. 5 (Sanctified Sexuality Pt.3)
we left off here last time ...
Leonard Ravenhill said that "no man is greater than his prayer life".
This is true. The true measure of your maturity spiritually is not so much in what you know but in how much time you spend on your knees before the King in prayer. There is a whole world crouched in deep darkness. He is looking for intercessors. Jesus said that "the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His Harvest".
The center piece for our lives is not get a good job and get a nice retirement set up. But it is living a life in service to God wherever He commands us to go. We are not at home. This place is not our home. We are foreign dignitaries on assignment in an enemy country. This world does not love our King. It crucified Him. If it hated and hates Him, should it love us?
What does that say when we have the same addictions as the blind and diseased that we are supposed to be administering the cure to? What does it say when our children are worse leaving our homes than the worlds children? What does it say when professing Christians have just as much illegal sex as the world? Do we know Him? Do we hate what He hates?
Jesus hates sin. Our Father who has provided us with adoption into His Household hates sin. The Holy spirit that indwells us hates sin and is hurt by our practice of sin. Do I hate sin? Do you?
Do we hate sin? Do we get disgusted with our penchant for lusting for things that divide our very souls? Sin separates us from God. We then lean on ourselves (sinful nature) and begin to doubt. This happens because our spirit is not being nurtured. In James it talks about how a doubting man is a double minded man. The word in Greek for double minded literally means two-souled or of two spirits. When we engage in unlawful sexual behavior and join ourselves with other people or masturbate to images of people we are literally dividing our souls, thus creating another mind. Or rather as Paul states in Romans we are empowering our "carnal mind". This carnal mind is naturally at odds with God. This double mindedness leads to doubt in God and the things of God, which will not allow for us to receive from God because it is a mind of doubt. It creates instability in the life of the believer spiritually. Jesus said that "you will know a tree by the fruit that it bears." So if we are bearing fruit of lust, is it any wonder why the Power Of God is not manifested through us to a dying world?
And since Satan seeks those whom he may devour, he devours us in this state. It is like being in the ring with Mohammed Ali and you are 90 lbs. You think thats a fair fight? We must not give him the opportunity. Though the enemy is defeated, he aint dumb. Satan aint playing games. He wants to destroy us and do whatever he has to do to accomplish that. He knows what works and he will keep working it until he steals, kills and destroys.
We need to separate ourselves from anything that would tempt us to fall. Movies, music, internet, magazines; anything or anyone. If there is a person that causes us to fall then we must separate from the that person. If however for whatever reason you cannot get away from these people or person then go into your prayer closet and ask God to grant you the strength to resist. Ask Him to remove whatever it is that, is or can cause you to stumble.
Scripture says that there is no temptation that will come upon us except what is common for every person and that God will be faithful and provide a way of escape. We need to stand on that. Let us go up like Elijah to Mount Carmel and make our decision to serve the Lord and not Baal. Either Jesus is Lord or He aint. If He is then our lives need to reflect that.
The world will be changed through the power of Holy Spirit and not by our massive though nice and entertaining church services. Let us kill our sin through considering ourselves dead to these things. We have a new nature and are new creatures in Christ.
Our country is on the precipice of a breakdown that no one can fathom. There is disaster coming. Things will not continue the way that they are. No society in the history of mankind has danced past the line like we have and survived. Judgment is coming. Since 2001 we have had 3 major wakeup calls and now with the fuel crisis we are heading for the next major step.
Our leaders in politics on both sides are corrupt. Big business interest are presented as being more important than the lives of the children. We have educated and raised the literacy rate in Iraq but meanwhile many of our own children here in the states are not graduating. If you knew a person that had 5 kids and none of them were well educated but he went out of his way to educate his neighbors kids what would you think? That is how America looks. God removed the blanket with Katrina. The whole world got to see Americas nakedness in how she treated her own and was slow to respond (the govt was). Whether you believe Katrina was an act of God or an act of stupidity you cannot deny the reality that it showed.
This is not a game. America is not mentioned in prophecy. You can laugh at me and ridicule me but you need to wake up. No amount of putting you head in the sand is gonna change anything. As bad as things are now in this world they are gonna get progressively worse. We are in a war. Not a culture war either. We are in a spiritual battle and we need to man up and arm ourselves. There are souls at stake. We dont have time for breaks or vacations.
Are all of your loved ones and friends saved? What about the coworkers? Your kids? Your spouse? We have work to do. Let us partner with God in serving in His Harvest. Because He says that are there aint a shortage of people needing or wanting salvation but there is a shortage of people laboring in the Harvest field of salvation.
I pray that we take up our Crosses and DIE to our lusts and sexual sins so that the world may see a manifestation of the Sons and Daughters of God! That the Lamb Of God may recieve a sacrificial living offering worthy of His praise and honor.
