Road Of Righteousness
I travel it
Though the road winds and turns
I walk it
Though there is no one to speak to
I go down it
The sun shines on both wicked and righteous alike
So I use the light at my disposal to travel in night
The dark night and pulsates the season and climate
My instincts are primal but far beyond a primate
Its intimate here in the valley, me, myself and I
Though I cannot see out of it, I’m till I die
Try to speak to others and intimate the situation
But my vocabulary is filled with frustration
Forbidden trees of fruit along the road delight the eye
Causing the senses to celebrate and they ask “why?”
“why do you fight us? Give in, give in to our delights”
knowing that they are filled with poison helps most nights
but on others it comforts very little, a meal is a meal
its very easy to feel that way, when you cannot feel
when everything seems black and bleak and without form
Lord God Almighty help a brotha through this storm
Though the road is lonely
I travel it
Though the road winds and turns
I walk it
Though there is no one to speak to
I go down it
I am the least of all and invisible to human eyes
Only the throne of heaven can hear my cries
No more than a man and no less than a sinner
Without the blood I would not be able to enter
I know this road is long and the journey filled with things
But I have nothing else, for this my spirit sings…
To behold as I am beheld
To kiss the hand that was nailed
To kneel at the feet that were pierced through
To say the King face to face…I love you
